What is VuMe? VuMe is the next generation of media uploading, and we believe, first and foremost, that it should pay to be creative. VuMe provides a place where content creators can upload their original videos, images, and audio clips, and profit from the exposure. Each month we take our ad revenues and divide them up with the content creators. After all, if we make our money from advertising, why shouldn't you?

How does VuMe work? Simply upload your content, and then we'll add in a few tasteful, unobtrusive banner ads on your media pages, and tag on an advertisement to the end of your videos. Every time someone clicks on your content to take a look or a listen, we'll track it. Then at the beginning of every month, we'll share our ad revenues with you, depending on the number of hits your media has received.

How much money will I get for my hits? Doing the math is easy. Your videos, images, and audio clips will earn $1 for every 1,000 hits. Each and every month, all of your revenue from all of your media posts are added up, tallied up, and bundled into your VuMe Revenue account.

How do I get paid? At the beginning of every month, we'll go through our database and find users that exceeded $25. If you've earned a minimum of $25, VuMe will then deposit your earnings straight into your PayPal account. If your balance hasn't hit $25, don't worry, it will roll over to the next month.

Is there a cost to join VuMe? VuMe is absolutely free to join, so sign up and upload your media! As they say, "the best things in life are free!" (And in this case, you even get to make money!)

How do I upload media on VuMe? It's easy. First click 'upload' on the Navigation bar which is located at the top of any page. Then choose your media type and you'll be redirected to the Upload page. Here, you can select the file that you wish to upload, title it, place it in a category, and then add specific tags.

What are tags for? Tags are the keywords that provide the roadmap to users so that they can find your media. The more thoroughly and accurately you tag your media the more people will find it, and that will translate into more money for you! What kinds of tags should you use? Here's an example: You just shot a video of your new bulldog puppy chasing a butterfly. How about: bulldog, dog, puppy, butterfly, cute!

What kind of media can I upload on VuMe? VuMe supports videos, images, and audio files. It's all fair game as long as you created it. We, of course, can't accept everything. We won't include anything that infringes on copyrights or violates privacy or obscenity laws. We won't allow the posting of anything that is illegal, obscene, pornographic, or contains hate speech. But we are happy to accept almost anything and everything that is within the legal bounds of good taste.

What are the size limits for video and audio clips? We can accept videos and audio clips up to 100MB per file.

What file types can I upload? Photos: JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG
Videos: MOV, MPEG, MPG, 3GP, WMV, AVI
Audio: MP3, WAV

Why did my media get deleted? It could be one of two reasons. Either your media crossed the bounds of legal good taste or it may have contained copyrighted material. VuMe thrives on original content - it's what we're all about - so make sure that you only upload things that you created yourself!

Who owns what I upload on VuMe? You do! You still own any original media that you've uploaded onto our site, so you never need to worry about losing the rights to your work when you post it on VuMe.

How do I cancel my account? There's really no need to cancel, you can just delete your media. But if you want to officially cancel your account, you can email us at and then consider it done.
