About VuMe

There's a reason why VuMe is different from other sites. We stand firmly behind one principal rule: that the creators of all types of Internet content should be paid for their work. When you sign on with VuMe, it means that you will receive a portion of our advertising revenue, depending on how well your content has performed. Most media sites don't pay a dime for your content, and those that do make sure that you first sign over your rights. Not so with VuMe. When your media is viewed, you'll earn money. And VuMe will never redistribute your work for profit. We're also artists, and we want what's best for our users.

So what's playing on VuMe? Everything from the serious to the humorous and the slick to the silly. If you can create it has a home on VuMe. Videos, images, audio clips and blogs, all for you to post and to view.

When you post on VuMe, everything is fair game, as long as it's original content (and, of course, within the legal bounds of good taste).

Who are we? We didn't know it then, but the seeds for VuMe were planted back in 2003 when our founder, Kevin Flynn, created and posted one of the most viewed videos on the Internet, "Peanut Butter Jelly Time." His work was quickly commandeered by many other websites and Flynn never saw a penny. So Flynn decided that he wanted to make sure that other media artists didn't lose control of their original works, and that they were compensated for it, too.
